Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Plain language. Effective 15 October 2026.

What we collect. When you ask to be matched, we collect the answers you choose to give (what you’re experiencing, the kind of support you want, format, location and preferences), your first name and how to reach you. You can skip any question. Please don’t include details of trauma or medical history in free-text fields.

Why. Only to match you with therapists on Therapists.plus and show you why each one fits. We ask your consent before collecting these answers.

Who sees it. Matching happens on our systems. A therapist sees your name and contact details only if you choose them. Your answers are never sold and are never used for advertising. We use no advertising pixels, visitor-identification or session-recording tools on pages for people seeking support.

Service providers. Our email provider (Klaviyo) sends your messages — it receives your name, email, a request number and links, never your answers. Your name and contact details (not your answers) are kept in the CRM of the company that operates Therapists.plus, so the team can follow up. These providers may not use your data for their own purposes.

Partner networks — only with a separate yes. If you tick the optional box, and no therapist here responds within 48 hours, we share your name, email/phone and ZIP code only — never your answers with Provider Back Office (providerbackoffice.com) and contacts.plus, so they can connect you with someone. If you don’t tick it, nothing is shared.

How long we keep it. Your answers are deleted 14 days after your request is closed or moves on. Contact details stay with the therapists you chose, in our records of your request and in our CRM until you ask us to delete them.

Your rights. You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent, at any time: email privacy@therapists.plus with the request number we gave you. Residents of Washington, Nevada, Connecticut, California and other states have additional rights under their consumer health data laws; we honor them for everyone.

Not HIPAA-covered. Therapists.plus is a directory and matching service, not your health-care provider. Therapists you work with may have their own privacy obligations.
